1. Chinese aren't allowed to use Facebook nor are they allowed to use Youtube (I know, sad) but a friend of mine told me about their own Youtube, namely Youku. And I wanted to watch some videos. The main video was this:
I have no idea why they were fighting since that gal is talking sooo fast. I remained dissapointed when I saw that I can't understand a thing.
But today a miracle happened! :P As I was waiting for a tram, 2 chinese guys stood exactly behind me. They were talking, and talking, and talking and I couldn't understand a thing. I was about to quit listening when I heard 红 hong, which means red, and 漂亮 piaoliang, which means beautiful. Since I'm redheaded, I had a feeling they might be talking about me but wasn't sure so I turned to look at them.
They were both looking at me and smiling and I instantly started laughing out loud and then rolling of the floor laughing (South Park S14E04 reference!). I was shocked that I could understand something and that they were talking about me, but I didn't quite want to talk in Chinese. However, I wanted to let them know I know a bit of Chinese. When one of them asked me 'How are you?' in Romanian, I started laughing even harder and took out my Chinese book. YOU CAN'T IMAGINE THE LOOK ON THEIR FACES!! :)) They were completely shocked and who knows what else they were saying about me that I wasn't supposed to hear and maybe they thought I had understood everything even though i had understood only 'red' and 'beautiful' haha!! They were shocked, I was laughing and while I started telling them in Chinese that I'm a student at the foreign language university and that this is my first year of Chinese, they didn't say a word, they were just listening and looking intensely at me. One of them asked me something back in Chinese but I couldn't understand and as I were in a hurry to catch the tram, I just told them that I'm sorry I can't talk anymore and nice to meet them, of course in Chinese.
What were the chances of them being in Romania, liking a girl on the street, saying something about her and the girl knowing Chinese?! HAHA.
I'm sorry I was laughing so hard 'cause I could've talked more and better but I just couldn't believe it!

2. The event which is going to take place tomorrow is OK Corral presents Music @ Post-Cochet 8hrs DJ Set (ex Embryo club, Ion Oteleseanu Street No. 3)

The entrance is just 10 RON, the club is nice, the music will be a sort of joyful nufunk and the DJs are going to experiment a bit! Come and see what's in their sleeves :P

Fail
Saturday I went to see The Model at the Transformars Event in the Base Shop disguised as a club and I actually had a lot of fun but that's not the fail. The fail was how a guy... well, I don't think he was trying to hit on me, but I actually still have no idea what he wanted from me.
So this guy comes up to me and asks me if I like games. I tell him no, even though I LOVE GAMES. He said that he was going to ask me 5 questions and that I need to answer wrongly. At first, I didn't hear the last part so I answered correctly to the first question 'What cigarettes are you smoking?'. He then emphasized that I need to answer wrongly. I had finally heard & understood what he meant, since he was pretty drunk, and quickly changed my answer. The second question was 'What's your name?'. I answered Ioana and he started laughing and telling me that he knows that's not my name. Hah, genious, wasn't he? He then asked me the 3rd and the 4th questions, same shit, and the last one was 'How many questions have I asked you?'. And I answered 4.
At that moment he told me 'You lost, haha. I asked you 5 questions.' and he left.
What's up with that?! People don't kno' how to play anymo'. Try some DOTA or something serious with rules'n'shit cause boy oh boy, if games and gamers lose their logic...
If he had come straight up to me and said 'i am chuffed to bits by your ba donka donk' it would have been a lot more likely for me to enjoy the conversation. At least I would have had the certainty he knew who Hugh Laurie was :P

How do you like me now?
I’m pretty sure some of you won’t agree of this post, but you’re free to share your opinions.
Before I got my period, someone told me 2 things I wasn’t allowed to do while menstruating. First one was 'don’t get wet' and the second one 'you aren’t allowed to go into a church'. As I was quite small, I thought the first one was related to something biologically, like you’re going to get stuff if you get into water – not understanding that the person was talking about swimming pools. However, I was sure women showered during that period :)).
But what intrigued me and actually intrigues me now even more is the second advice. Why wouldn’t I be allowed to go into a church? Not that I’m that religious, I’m on Darwin’s side on this one, but still why aren’t you allowed? A person told me that it’s a sin. WHY?! Apparently you’re not ‘clean’ if you’re menstruating. But didn’t, so they say, God make us all? Why would he not agree with us, women, if he made us? It doesn’t make any sense, Darwin’s more logical than that.

Exam.s. 'n' Elec Tronik Kartell @ Fabrica
I had my first exam yesterday - well actually the first one was English, but that one doesn't quite count. So, yesterday I had my first exam in 'Linguistics Concepts' which is actually an interesting subject, but since I HATE exams... It sucked. I had studied constantly for 2 days to be able to answer to only 3 out of 5 questions - mainly because the last 2 subjects were from the last 2 lectures which I didn't have :). Thursday I have another exam and almost the same amount of lessons to study, in the same amount of time - 2 days. It sucks.
Besides the fact that I am so stressed out for these exams, it started snowing again.... WHY GOD WHY?
Here are some jokes that made me crawl out of the stress zone for a tad:
An ugly man walks into his local pub with a big grin on his face. "What are you so happy about?" Asks the barman. "Well, I'll tell you," replies the ugly man. "You know, I live by the railway. Well, on my way home last night, I noticed a young woman tied to the tracks, like in the movies. I, of course, went and cut h...er free and took her back to my place. Anyway, to make a long story short, I scored big time! We made love all night, all over the house. We did everything, me on top, sometimes her on top, every position imaginable!" 1. Nu suport oamenii care nu asteapta ca lumea sa coboare si abia apoi sa urce in autobuz, tramvai, metrou. [am mai scris de asta in primul post]
2. Nu suport oamenii care se aseaza pe locul dinspre aisle in loc de cel de la geam. DE CE? DE CE SA FACI ASTA? Mai ales daca mergi multe statii, asezati-va domne la geam, mai ales daca e aglomerat. Lumea se aseaza frumos pe acel loc, iar daca autobuzul este foarte aglomerat nu are NIMENI cum sa ocupe acel loc. DE AIA ajunge asa aglomerat cacatul de autobuz. Prefer tramvaiul, macar nu are problema asta, pentru ca e conceput doar cu cate un scaun pe fiecare parte, JESUS.
3. Nu suport oamenii care se uita urat la mine ca nu dau locul personelor in varsta. Well, nu-s nesimtita. Il dau. Dar nu il dau in momentul in care mai sunt 3 locuri libere in autobuz. Ce, tre sa stea fix pe locul unde stau eu? De ce sa ma ridic si sa ma mut eu, in loc sa se duca acea persoana pe locul neocupat? Nu e ca si cand ar merge 70 de metri sa ajunga la el, for pete's sake.

Pandorum - Era 5 dimineata cand l-am vazut si mi s-a parut cam boring dar nu puteam sa adorm deci probabil nu merita vazut.
Samson & Delilah - OMG. Nu stiu cum am rezistat sa ma uit la el. Nu se vorbea aproape deloc si nici actiunea nu era prea... captivanta. Pur si simplu ma uitam asteptand sa se intample CEVA la un moment dat. Dar s-a terminat filmul.
Harry Brown - Eh, de la no action am trecut la slow action. Basically, un mosulica britanic incearca sa-si razbune amicul omorat de o gasca de tineri. A fost decent filmul. Actorul ala a jucat si in alte filme okay, dar niciunul extraordinar, as far as I remember.
Bandslam - Pentru ca sezonul 4 din Skins intarzie sa apara, mi s-a facut dor de un film cu adolescenti. And that's what I got. Twas funny at moments, not so much though.
Extract - Un film regizat de cel care a facut si Office Space. Mi-a placut mai mult Office Space asta a fost cam previzibil si plictisitor.

Suie au cantat bine, fun dar dupa ce au terminat a fost cam boring. Afterparty-ul s-a tinut la un coleg de-al meu care are apartamentul fffff tare :D.

Ma bucur ca Miss a iesit o colega de-a mea <3 si ca si celalalt coleg de-al meu care a participat la Mister a luat ceva: Mister Popularitate, desi poate merita mai mult *thinking*. Suie au cantat bine, fun dar dupa ce au terminat a fost cam boring. Afterparty-ul s-a tinut la un coleg de-al meu care are apartamentul fffff tare :D.

Diverse
Politica
In ultima vreme am asistat la diverse discutii despre politica, eu neavand nici cea mai mica treaba cu asa ceva. Totusi, in urma unei petreceri unde s-a discutat multa politica, m-am uitat la stiri si am vazut confruntarea dintre Antonescu si Basescu. Astfel am ajuns sa stiu cu cine votez si sa imi doresc sa iasa cineva presedinte. Pai cum sa iasa presedinte Basescu care s-a luat de sotia moarta a celuilalt candidat sau cel care nici nu a vrut sa participe la confruntare? Daca nu ati vazut confruntarea inca, ar trebui sa o urmariti!
Filme
In afara de serialele pe care le urmaresc [Lie To Me, Californication, South Park si The Office] de care nu trebuie sa mai mentionez cat de mult imi plac - desi SP se duce incet incet de rapa dar ramane un clasic, am mai urmarit si cateva filme printre care pot mentiona:
Bruno - Eu nu stiu de ce s-a plans atata lume de el. Ce e drept, am ras mai putin decat la Borat, DAR la unele faze era sa cad de pe scaun de ras [spoilers: faza de la mediumul acela, faza din emisiune cu OJ, etc etc]. Apropo, imi pare rau ca trebuie sa ma repet dar glumele din Bruno nu au fost regizate. Adica au fost, dar numai el stia asta; spre exemplu in emisiunea cu negri, ei habar nu aveau ca totul era o caterinca, ei chiar credeau ca exista acel om care a trade-uit copilul negru pe un Ipod. Acum... depinde si de umorul fiecaruia; pun pariu ca 90% dintre prietenii mei nu s-ar amuza niciun pic la The Office iar eu una il ador.
Written By - Este filmul chinezesc de care va spuneam in postul trecut. A fost simpatic, dar nu exceptional. Este vorba de niste persoane care se hotarasc sa isi rescrie viata in functie de cum vor ei, iar la un moment dat devine foarte confuzant nestiind care e realitatea si care e povestea. Entertaining, but not enough. Fata de filmele japoneze sau coreene pot afirma cu tarie ca filmele chinezesti nu exceleaza - sau poate nu am vazut ce trebuie dar oricum voi continua sa le urmaresc.
2012 - Vesnica poveste despre cum vine apocalipsa in 2012 si vom muri cu totii. Efectele au fost foarte tari, mai ales la inceput, dar filmul e putin cam lung si cam melodramatic. Bine, eu nu suport sa vad cum plang atat unii dupa altii dar probabil ca in locul lor as face la fel. Totusi ma asteptam la mai multa actiune si mai putine sentimente. De vazut merita oricum.
Orphan - Imi placea mult posterul din vara si cand am vazut ca a aparut chiar m-am bucurat si m-am uitat la el cu entuziasm. Poate din cauza aia mi-a si placut atat de mult. Ideea a fost ca nu ma asteptam ca povestea sa decurga asa si m-a luat prin surprindere. Nu e nici asta un film exceptional - bine, niciunul nu va mai fi un film exceptional, asta dupa ce am vazut Inglorious Basterds - dar merita incercat.
Am prins odata si Burn After Reading la HBO, pe care evident eu l-am vazut cand a aparut, dar era prea tare sa nu-l revad. Dupa filmul asta si Inglorious Basterds am inceput sa-l apreciez pe Brad Pitt ca actor. Inainte nu prea ma incanta.
Am pierdut maratonul de filme horror dar vineri ma voi duce la maratonul de comedii la Plaza. Cel mai probabil sunt comedii foarte proaste dar probabil vom fi toti intr-o atmosfera buna sa ne amuzam oricum.

Am regasit un videoclip pe care il ador:

Nu m-am mai jucat DOTA de vreo 2 saptamani pentru ca am fost 'banata de system' si mi-e lene sa le dau mail; of course i'm innocent, am doar virusi, nu hack-uri.
In schimb m-am mai jucat ocazional poker in Poker Club si intr-una din dati am iesit chiar pe locul 5 din 70^^.
Facultate
Balul este pe 26 noiembrie in Turabo si ne vor canta Suie Paparude si inca niste DJ pe care nu cred ca ii cunosc nici macar organizatorii :))). Cine vrea sa vina, just lemme know.

10 iulie @ Daimon Concert Lounge
Cum sa nu veniti la o petrecere cu asa un flyer? :D
Stiu ca am promis sa povestesc cat de tare si de hardcore a fost la Best Fest anul asta, insa de ce sa ramanem blocati in trecut cand putem vorbi despre o viitoare petrecere? :D
Pe 10 iulie va asteptam la Daimon Concert Lounge, o locatie superba pentru petreceri avand piscina alaturi, unde ne vor incanta cu muzica buna si dansanta Shades of Gray din Praga cu un live-act de toata frumusetea, OK Corral ca intotdeauna veseli si binevoitori si Victor Stancov cu o muzica relaxanta de piscina in warm-up.
Ocazia petrecerii este lansarea EP-ului Pink Shue al celor de la OK Corral la Beef Records. Puteti asculta unele dintre piesele de pe acest EP aici, aici si aici.
Va asteptam la petrecere incepand cu orele 23 sa petrecem incheierea BAC-ului si nu numai :)).

In primul rand, premiile See Mee din Sofia s-au incheiat ieri. Ok Corral a iesit pe locul 3 la Best Live Act Band, iar prietenul nostru, Victor Stancov, a iesit pe locul 1 la Best Upcoming Artist.
Printre premii as mai dori sa mentionez alte locuri 1 castigate de romani, Best Producer: Adrian Eftimie si Best Website covering Dance Music: Beatfactor .

Imi plac Prodigy dar live, cel putin la Coke Live, si-au batut joc complet. Ne-au lasat sa asteptam vreo 50 de minute, nu au facut niciun test de sunet in prealabil si s-a auzit infect. Aa si ei erau foarte beti si drogati pe scena, deci show... nu prea a fost daca abia se tineau in picioare. Am vazut live si Massive Attack si Chemical Brothers si Faithless [de 2 ori] si pot spune cu mana pe inima ca oricare dintre acestia au fost mai tari live decat Prodigy. Sau poate Prodigy si-a batut joc doar de romanasi avand in vedere ca au fost chemati pe scena ca si PROGIDY. Si eu mi-as fi batut joc.

See-Me Awards in Sofia
My brother, alongside Thornado, got nominated at the See-Me Awards in Sofia for his live-act under the name Ok Corral.
This is something big for him but also for the Romanian club scene as a lot of wide-known artists such as Daft Punk, Prodigy, Massive Attack and Chemical Brothers have also been nominated (at different categories of course) in the same awards-giving festival (?).
Besides Ok Corral other romanians have been nominated as well, such as: Victor Stancov, Dana Nicula, Adrian Eftimie, TRG, Play & Win, the Sunete magazine, the Beatfactor site, the Kristal Glam Club, the Sunrise promoter, etc.
Anyway, if you want to support your fellow romanian comrads at these awards, please click here and vote. If you want to vote with someone else, please do so. I am only advertising.

A boy looks at a girl, and the girl looks like a pony
Norman Cook - aka Fatboy Slim e tare. Doar ca in ultima perioada a cam stat pe bara la capitolul productie, concentrandu-se mai mult pe petreceri si mixat.
Mi-a cam spart gura cu noul lui proiect numit Brighton Port Authority, pentru ca ii fredonez intruna melodia. Toe Jam e prima melodie pe care am ascultat-o din acest proiect, pentru care a colaborat cu Dizzee Rascal.
A doua piesa este Seattle, o foarte relaxanta si draguta melodie, in care a colaborat cu Emmy the Great.
A treia piesa este He's Frank (slight return).
Iar ultimul, de care am aflat si eu azi este Should I Stay or Should I Blow?
Personal, mie imi plac Toe Jam si Blow cel mai mult, dar nici celelalte doua nu-s rele. Voi ce parere aveti?
PS: Ma doare fix in pula de cine ce zice de blogul meu. Pot sa zic si pula si pizda si sloboz si cacat pe acest blog si poate sa se ia si Papa Ioan Paul I de mine - din mormant - ca tot in pula ma doare. Apropo, v-am ingrosat cuvintele respective, asa, ca sa va fie mai usor cand dati search.

House Parade + 18th birthday
As I didn't want to spend my 18th birthday in my hometown - Bucharest - I decided to go to Ploiesti with some of my friends, where House Parade has taken place this year.
For me it was an amazing night, passing through a lot of different feelings. I was quite bored by Markuz Schultz's music, and by the festival in general being trance-focused, until I heard a remix of "Hey boy, hey girl" by Chemical Brothers and started dancing immediately!
Tocadisco was the one in charge of my happiness and as I just put my hands on his set from that night, I want to share it with you!
PS: Unfortunately, I have no idea how to upload that big of a file, but when I get the hang of it, I will.

Massive Attack in Romania
THEY WERE HERE. And I was there.
Amazing concert with incredible sounds and political messages personalized - in a way - for our country. I have no words to describe the amazing atmosphere created there.
The lead-singer's voice went directly to my soul and the melange of instruments was perfect! Listening to those songs live was an incredible opportunity and I suggest everyone to go to Massive Attack's concerts if they have the possibility because it's an ideal concert indeed and you can't really get it irrespective how well someone describes it for you unless you are there...
What was more incredible for me was the after party @ Fabrica. I was dancing on Gojira's music, and heard all sorts of rumours that the components of Massive Attack were going to be there. "Pfff", I was thinking, "right. Like they're really gonna come here.". BUT THEY HAVE!
Talking to Xi at one moment of the night, she suddenly stopped talking and was acting as if she couldn't breathe anymore when... I turned. To my surprise, Daddy G WAS THERE! At about 1 metre away from us! Unfortunately, he wasn't feeling so well so he left. But my brother, Vania, told us to come in the last room from Fabrica where the last of the members were there!! For about 3 hours we were in a dream. Talking to the lead singer about animals, music and common things was unreal... All the members were so sociable, and so detached, and so... no further comments. Not only do they have great talent and are so popular but acting so common was a real surprise! I know they're people but knowing all sorts of other artists... it was amazing!
They were also pleasantly surprised by the mass of romanian people who came to see them live. They didn't expect the concert to be such a succes. To finish up, they were pretty impressed by the people here compared to Britain.
Martina Topley Bird was also there, a really cute girl with a great voice. I didn't catch her whole show but I was impressed by her last 15 minutes. Great show and again... really sociable.
Actually, I don't know any other worldwide-known bands who would come to after parties in an ex-FACTORY.
All in all, it was an unreal night!

Ok Corral
Vania, Thornado si Midy au lansat noul proiect OK Corral cu ocazia lui Anakin EP, la groove++ recordings. Intre timp, proiectul OK Corral a intrat in familia Great Stuff Recordings / Craft Music / Kling Klong. Primul EP, Planetarium, va aparea pe 4 iunie la Craft Music. Mai multe informatii cat de curand pe pagina lor de myspace si pe viitorul website.Formula de live-act/dj set OK Corral ii are ca membri doar pe Vania si Thornado. Cu ocazia venirii lui Gregor Tresher in Romania, cei doi au onoarea de a face un prim dj set OK Corral sub noua titulatura pentru foarte cunoscutul dj si producator german. Gregor Tresher este, de asemenea, in familia Great Stuff Recordings, cat si la Cocoon, fiind unul dintre principalii artistii produsi de Germania ultimilor ani. Piese ca noul remix pentru Saint Paul a lui Marco Bailey & Tom Hades sau A Thousand Nights, care da si numele petrecerii de pe 25 aprilie, i-au adus un renume mondial.
Va asteptam, deci, la petrecere si va promitem cat de curand si un live-act OK Corral.
In after hours va mixa Negru (FWD Agency) si 2door.

Tot anii '80
Incearca la o petrecere de tineri din ziua de azi sa multumesti pe toata lumea. Unii vor dnb, altii vor hituri, unii vor techno, altii vor melodii lente, unii vor rock, altii vor nu stiu ce formatie dubioasa de care nu a auzit nimeni. Personal, chiar daca nu-mi plac anumite piese, inteleg ca mai sunt si alte persoane care vor sa asculte si ca nu sunt acasa, dar majoritatea nu pricep acest lucru si la fiecare petrecere exista cel putin o cearta pe tema muzicii.
Add a bit of '80s si totul dispare. Da. Am observat acest lucru. Toata lumea stie melodiile, sunt dansante, lumea uita de cum este categorisita, si incepe sa danseze. Add a bit - but just a bit - of alcohol si totul devine si mai frumos.
Pentru noi, cei nascuti in '90, merg si anii '90 din domeniul muzicii.
