House Parade + 18th birthday

As I didn't want to spend my 18th birthday in my hometown - Bucharest - I decided to go to Ploiesti with some of my friends, where House Parade has taken place this year.

For me it was an amazing night, passing through a lot of different feelings. I was quite bored by Markuz Schultz's music, and by the festival in general being trance-focused, until I heard a remix of "Hey boy, hey girl" by Chemical Brothers and started dancing immediately!

Tocadisco was the one in charge of my happiness and as I just put my hands on his set from that night, I want to share it with you!

PS: Unfortunately, I have no idea how to upload that big of a file, but when I get the hang of it, I will.

PPS: One of the best day ever.

Words of Wisdom

Although George Constanza has always been thought as the goofy one, his words of wisdom are really... words of wisdom!

Animal Feature

No introduction needed.

Meet Jimmy! My father bought it as a gift for my 10th anniversary after my mother precisely said that it's not the right time for a dog :P. Thus he's 8 years old. He's a bishon maltez with shih tzu.

This was Ubuntu. Unfortunately he suffered an accident - don't ask - and it's not alive anymore. RIP Ubuntu.

This is Ebola also known as Lola. Xi hasn't decided yet. He and Ubuntu have had a rough relationship but I'm sure that 'she'* misses Ubuntu a lot. She's got a 3-floor suite all for herself. Heh. Life.

* I'm not sure about it's sex.

This is Viktor, our latest acquisition on account of hamsters. He's cute and small, and the way he drinks water is fantastic. He's staying in another place than Ebola, in a sort of acquarium. As Mike Skinner [The Streets] would say :

"We just sit in this hazy bubble with our quarters
Discussing how beautiful Gail Porter is.

MTV, BBc 2, Channel 4 is on until six in the morning,

Then at six in the morning the sun dawns and it's my bedtime."

And this skank is 13. Yup, Thirteen. Nope, not the movie! As Jip from Human Traffic would say "She's a pussycat." Lately he answers to Viktor's name so it's quite chaotic.

Anyway, it's interesting living here. Especially when my brother decides rearranging some stuff too...

cAe

As much as I wanted to hide my enthusiasm... I just couldn't :D

I knew I would have the lowest mark in speaking cause I'm quite shy and I completely freak out when supposed to talk in public.

Nonetheless, I took an A, so hooray :D

Birthdays

As I child I have always thought of birthdays as opportunities for parties, having all my friends in the same place at the same time and well, parties :D. Having grown, though my excitement for parties didn't change, I started hating birthdays!
I couldn't quite get why a lot of people hate their birthdays, but now, becoming 18 in 10 days made me understand exactly what they felt. I'll soon be allowed to drink, drive, smoke, all legally and this thought completely freaks me out.
However, I didn't want to talk only about the 18th birthdays - this is a special case, I wanted to talk about birthdays in general. I've reached that age - perhaps a bit early - when birthdays make you feel old in a bad way. As a child, having grown a year was like the 8th wonder of the world. You felt mature, and you wanted to become more mature. Afterwards, everyone wants to be a child.

Life's interesting.

Massive Attack in Romania

THEY WERE HERE. And I was there.

Amazing concert with incredible sounds and political messages personalized - in a way - for our country. I have no words to describe the amazing atmosphere created there.

The lead-singer's voice went directly to my soul and the melange of instruments was perfect! Listening to those songs live was an incredible opportunity and I suggest everyone to go to Massive Attack's concerts if they have the possibility because it's an ideal concert indeed and you can't really get it irrespective how well someone describes it for you unless you are there...

What was more incredible for me was the after party @ Fabrica. I was dancing on Gojira's music, and heard all sorts of rumours that the components of Massive Attack were going to be there. "Pfff", I was thinking, "right. Like they're really gonna come here.". BUT THEY HAVE!

Talking to Xi at one moment of the night, she suddenly stopped talking and was acting as if she couldn't breathe anymore when... I turned. To my surprise, Daddy G WAS THERE! At about 1 metre away from us! Unfortunately, he wasn't feeling so well so he left. But my brother, Vania, told us to come in the last room from Fabrica where the last of the members were there!! For about 3 hours we were in a dream. Talking to the lead singer about animals, music and common things was unreal... All the members were so sociable, and so detached, and so... no further comments. Not only do they have great talent and are so popular but acting so common was a real surprise! I know they're people but knowing all sorts of other artists... it was amazing!

They were also pleasantly surprised by the mass of romanian people who came to see them live. They didn't expect the concert to be such a succes. To finish up, they were pretty impressed by the people here compared to Britain.
Martina Topley Bird was also there, a really cute girl with a great voice. I didn't catch her whole show but I was impressed by her last 15 minutes. Great show and again... really sociable.
Actually, I don't know any other worldwide-known bands who would come to after parties in an ex-FACTORY.

All in all, it was an unreal night!

PS: If any of the photographers who were at the after party is reading this, do leave me a message cause I completely forgot to ask where I can get those photos :).
PPS: Sorry for the repeating of some words but I'm still too numb to think or react.
